RIVARA'S ownership represents the 3rd generation of restaurateurs in the family. The first business originated in Hoboken when in 1916 the " VICTOR HOTEL " was opened by my grandfather, Pete, and was named after my father (Victor ). In 1950 the family moved out to the suburbs to a small but growing community called Glen Rock and that year opened "THE GLEN ROCK INN" which is presently owned and operated by my first cousins, the Quinn Family. In 1955 "THE MAYWOOD INN " opened and was operated by the Rivara Family and run by my father Victor. Baby Brother David now ownes and operates THE MAYWOOD INN . RIVARAS' originally opened in 1973 trading as "THE OWL AND I ". For 16 years,it enjoyed phenomenal success, primarily as a popular club with a wide range of live and disco music.

In 1988 a major renovation was undertaken along with a new name, RIVARA'S GRILL HOUSE. The success of our unique entertainment service, bring BROADWAY PLAYS along with DINNER and TRANSPORTATION to our customers in a package form for one price, led to our present name "RIVARA'S TASTE OF BROADWAY. We are now an American Cuisine restaurant specializing in BABY BACK RIBS and HOMEMADE MARYLAND CRAB CAKES. We have expanded our BROADWAY PACKAGE program and now offer ON and OFF premise CATERING. Our newest addition "RIVARA'S SKYLIGHT ROOM" offers an elegant private BANQUET ROOM for up to 125 people. The year 2000 marks our 28th year in business.
